Hi all, this is my first time posting; probably not my last...

I have an '05 Cayenne and the "Check License Plate Light" warning is on. Bulbs are both OK (tested off the car) but neither light up when connected.

Tried a voltmeter on each light socket and only getting ~0.2V at each point - I think it should be more than that.

I suspect a bad earth somewhere, but don't know which earth point to check first... is it the ones behind the tail lights or elsewhere?

Or - could it be a different gremlin?

EDIT: fixed this myself - bad connection at the socket due to corroded pins. Repaired and now all ok.
