Will Macan Cannibalize Cayenne Market ?

The P in PDK is Porsche, so it won't have that
The Audi site says it is an 8 speed Tip though. I couldn't easily find anything on the website, but some googling says that the tow rating is 4400lbs.
Now is that limited by the brakes? Chassis? Or VAG not wanting the Macan upstaged? No idea.
We do know, however, that Porsche has specifically said in the past that the PDK is not up to the task of towing yet and that's why it continues to not be available in the Cayenne.

Very different cars, very different gearboxes, and intents. I think each serve their purposes. But there will naturally be some crossover. I for one didn't consider a Cayenne, because I don't need a full SUV and all the size, nor do I need much cargo space and almost couldn't care less if the car didn't even have backseats. There are likely many Cayenne buyers who just need a Porsche with a slightly higher ride and some utility, thus finding the Macan adequate there and then finding its sportier drive a bonus. Then there are buyers who need a true utility car and will find the Macan short there. So we'll see how that plays out.
The Cayenne is a true SUV compared to the Macan. More about utility, more of a "truck", feels larger because it's designed more around the passengers and cargo, more luxury interior, better towing, off road ability, more boxy and upright (more functionality of space), etc. Both are Porsche's, so naturally (and thankfully) will be more style and "sexy" geared than utilitarian vs their competitors. The Macan is just more free to be more style and inherently sporty driving geared as it doesn't have to go much further than its inherent nature allows, in utility.
Next to the Cayenne, the Macan feels more like a sports sedan than another "SUV" (of which I don't even consider the Macan, being a Crossover at best). The Macan is more of a personal car, designed around the driver, with the most basic elements of the "U" from "SUV". Again, thankfully, as a Macan buyer, I wasn't looking for an SUV, but a compact Porsche with comfortable space which likely had to be a 4 door (though a non sunroof 911 has brilliant headroom for its size, or any size, just about enough for me) to meet my headroom requirements. One area of space that the Macan is industry best in the premium segment is frontal headroom, for tall drivers. Especially since you can thankfully order it without sunroof, it's got the best frontal vertical space of any sporty car out there.
