Default What do you think of these headlights?

So with the euro being 1:1 I was able to get these for far less than I thought, new old stock from Germany, as places seem to be clearing them out, since the 957 is old news at this point.

Not sure how I feel yet, since my car has all black and no chrome trim, thought it would complete the package.

I still have some blacked out DRLs that are after market, that I have not installed over a year ago, since the front bumper is a bit of a pain with the squirter hose, grills, etc having to all come out.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Newer Pics and Black out turn signals

I have had these for about a year, and have been putting it of, as taking the bumper of is easy but time consuming (I switched from the white grills to the black)

So they turn signals fit decent, not perfect, had to add a single washer to the upper outside mount, to avoid tightening it too much and stressing the plastic.

I like it. Blacked out looks good on some cars, and yours is one of them.

The blacked out headlights were a $1600 option back in 2009. Looks great!

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...=9552tt_Lights Says NA vs ROW is different, not sure how as they look the same as my old. I can see lights in the UK being different, with the roads.

However, I have been stalking ebay.de, and contacting sellers asking if they ship to the US.

About 50 dollars per light to ship, they use DHL which sucks.

I paid about $500 each plus shipping for new lights.

Looks really good. These are on the maybe list for me....

Do you have any more pics to share? There's not a ton of people with this option and therefore hard to find pictures online.

That is the problem I had, finding good pictures.

I will try to get some better pictures, my cell phone takes horrible pics, especially when it comes to white, they get washed out.

958s come with black out of the box, so that gives you a bit of an idea.

This tuner I could have sworn had them for 1400 euro or so.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Porsche-Cayen...item4ae2a7fc53

Has a best offer button. So maybe try that, they seem to have a lot in stock.

Not sure if this is the company selling them, but has their sticker on the box.

Do ALL 958's come with black inside the clear lens? I did not think so.
I thought even the 958's came with a silverfish colored plastic around the perimeter (just inside the clear lens).

I bought mine used,... but the original owner purchased this option:
8BT BiXenon(TM) Headlights - BLK w/ PDLS - $575

and so this is what I got...

Honestly, I thought everyone I saw has black for the main body of the light, but I do admit I have never checked that close! It looks like you have extra black, vs the 957 is no black at all.

The picture I posted above of the 958 has less black than yours.

So I will probably finally install these in the next few weeks, now that I have the time. Silver is removed from the trim.

@ Toureg - Yes, you're on the right track with your understanding of "how much black is in there" for 958's.

I have compared the regular interior of the lens, verses the option 8BT. A better word than "perimeter", might be to describe the section (that is more silver on the regular lens) as a "droopy eye lid". Which they change to black to match the rest of the interior of the lens. Dare I say, sorta like the BMW ring, but only the lower half.

What I do NOT know, is whether there is an option you can buy, that makes that "ring" black, without buying the PDLS. Obviously the orig owner of my 958 bought the PDLS option that INCLUDED the black "ring". I like the look personally,... especially since the rest of the interior is black ( ie, why in the heck would Porsche add silver to the interior of the headlights,... unless they the KNOW that people would want it more "consistent", all the same color, and would be willing to PAY more money for a "option" ).

But I agree with all of you, and that going to a more consistent "Look" makes a difference.
But it all boils down to how much money we're willing to spend to get that look.

I am very interested and have been looking for a set for quite a while but couldn't find one for under $2k. I would love to know a reliable site/seller with reasonable price for a set.
