I am currently looking at two 2008 turbos. Build sheets for both below. One lists "EXT All Wheel Drive" as an option. I am certain Cayennes are all AWD and when I search online for "EXT All Wheel Drive Cayenne" I get nothing useful. Can anyone explain what this feature is?
This will be used as a daily driver for my family (wife, 1 kid). If anyone has any insight on some of these options I would love to hear. Thanks for your help.

Choice #2 has some nice options, if you plan to tow it's already equipped with the hitch/wiring. Also has the Porsche entry and drive which is a must IMO. Not sure if the panoramic roof versus the moonroof is that important for you, have heard of a lot of issues with the Panoramic roof making noise and having issues closing or opening properly over time, I'm sure regular maintenance on it helps dramatically.
Mileage on both fairly low?
Thanks for the quick response. First one has 60k, the second one has 50k. Both selling for within 1k of one another. Leaning towards the second one. In theory the pano roof would be beautiful but I have read about potential annoyances of noise, etc.
The second one is equipped exactly like my 2008 CTT, even the color combo. The panoramic roof is fantastic, unless you are in very cold climates. It can be a bit temperamental at times if the seals aren't maintained. The squeaking is easy to fix, if it has not already been done by the dealer.
Curious as to what kind of pricing you are finding...
hmmm, still no word from our guru's on what the "EXT All Wheel Drive" is.
I'm interested.
I went back to my build sheet, and do not see that (2012 CTT).
I even have the Build Sheet that includes all the German listings for options on mine (6 pages long!). It lists all the numbered codes & descriptions first,... then it moves onto the letter coded options.
When I look down to the codes that start with "E", it shows some that I have no idea what they are:...
MNRTypeDescription
E0A T KEINE AKTIONSAUSFUEHRUNG (German translation something like "no action required")
EA0 T OHNE GARANTIEVERLAENGERUNG (something like "without warranty extension")
strange. Not sure why codes like this were needed in the build sheet.
=S
Yeah the ext thing is bizarre to me. Really curious to hear from the group.
As for panoramic, I would love to have one but I live in the NYC area so the winters can be tough. Couple that with the issues I've heard about and I'm not sure it's a must.
As for price these cars are both listed for around 35k. The second car is a few hundred more. Amazing that they are that price and both seem to be in reasonable condition.
For me, the positives of the trailer hitch, would out-weight any negatives you might see with having a pano roof. I have a pano & LOVE IT (but it's a 2012, so hoping I do not see any seal problems).
Plus, the crests in the seat headrests is a nice touch IMO with car #2.
And I agree with snzuloz, that you will love having the Entry-&-Drive.
But you might miss the Phone module for PCM, especially if you live in a state with Hands Free laws.
At only a couple hundred $$ difference, I can see where you are in a hard debate on which to choose.
I'm also assuming you have already dug deep into the Service / Maintenance Records, and that both cars are equal there too. Because in my mind THAT could be a BIG reason to choose one over the other.
Car 1 - 68k miles, 2 owners, looks like it spent most of its time in the Hamptons, seems like it was regularly maintained and there doesnt appear to be anything alarming with past maintenance.
Car 2 - 58k miles, 2 owners, spent its time in San Diego and Tennessee. It looks like the dealer in TN didnt log its maintenance.
Both have had no accidents. One huge downside on the first one in my opinion: it says it has the 21" wheel option but they must have swapped out of those or sold them because it definitely had the base 18" wheels on the car.
Since there's no numerical character in that designation, it may simply be a continuation from the line above. The only option I've heard of associated with the AWD was the locking rear diff in the offroad pkg.

Hmm, Sounds like the TT Calipers on a 2008, can clear an 18" rim. I've been told my 2012 CTT calipers are 290mm, and will only allow me to go as small as 19" rim. (I need a winter rim/tire setup for next winter).
I bet you are right though,... the prior owner probably had two sets, and traded it in with the small winter rim setup, and sold the 21" at a HANDSOME price. Probably ended up getting close to $10k more on his "trade-in" price. Tricky.

I would be really surprised if the 18s can safely clear the 2008 CTT calipers. Porsche says they will not. Even if they can fit, there would be so little clearance that in snowy conditions with buildup, it would be a cluster...
