Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of getting a 2008 Cayenne S, 74000 mi. Asking price $18988.00. I read about the water tube failure. Should I be concerned about this, or work the repair price in a deal?
Thanks for any input.

I should add I have an 1984 928S and a 1988 924S. And love both!!
Looked at selling one of my others to upgrade to a Boxster, but just got not bring myself to part with the 951 or the other. Could purchase a new one, but just not looking to drop 70k.
For the milage and year you should definitely consider the coolant pipes and water distributor fix. Get an inspection scope to determine if it has the upgraded aluminum pipes and take a look at the water distributor neck. Lots of info here:
Hi Shawn, Most '08s I've seen in the SE area with that mileage are listed in the $22-$25k range. I wish I could find a decent one in the upper teens, with or without the pipes done.
ps, I wanna tell you that I get compliments all the time on my Seiko 928 watch when I wear it at car events; Just a couple weeks ago at a DE several people saw it & wanted to know if they could get one with their fav Porsche model on it! So Thanks Again for your efforts!!
The pipes (assuming they're plastic) aren't that big a deal. It's a tedious but easy job to do on your own. I agree, knock some $$$ off the price if not aluminum.

I'm really happy you're enjoying it.
FWIW: If you're not completely hooked on an S, you might consider a base Cayenne. They're not rockets, but they can hold their own up an on ramp or on the highway. My '05 with 130k Northeastern miles is holding up brilliantly, and does everything I ask of it.
I am looking to buy a 2009 Cayenne with 58,000 Miles (V6 auto 4WD)
What are the things that I need to look-out for? what are the common problems / reliability issues for this model year?
