Default Replace PCM - non Bose

Hi, SatNav issue does not seem to be getting resolved so looking to update the entire PCM.

Its a non Bose system - and I am unsure what goes to where - can anybody please provide a wiring diagram, links to earlier posts that help. Indeed anything anybody could provide would be most interesting.

I apprecaite there have been may posts before - but I have not found too much to help me yet.

Thanks

Simon

It would help to know what model yr your Cayenne is, and what the current audio/nav system is.

Hi, yes, you are right...

Its an 06 S, PCM 2.1 with Navigation. It is non Bose with the 6 CD changer in the trunk area.

Thanks, Simon

I believe all PCM 2.0/2.1; whether std or Bose; have the MOST fiber optic bus, so for a new non-PCM head, you'll need either an FO/analog interface box (google "MObridge for PCM") or a new non-MOST amp and wiring. The selection and capabilities of alternative head units is huge. Hope that helps.

Yes - I think you are right - there is a FO out of the back of the PCM. Assume it goes to the Nav DVD drive and the CD changer in the boot / trunk.

I am unsure of the number of speakers in the car, if an amplifier is fitted or not. Do you have any documentation, connector info, location info of components I could use to figure out my car configuration.

It does sound like the way to go is to replace the H/U - I will need to think about how to connect the speakers and if a new amp is needed. What may help is to understand which speakers the amp drives - what the output of the amp etc. This way I could understand if a new amp is needed or maybe consider that the replacement HU has enough power output to drive the existing speakers.

I am not looking to spend a fortune on this - rather update to bring the Nav up to date and to add the Bluetooth phone etc capability.

Thanks

Simon

Question.

If I disconnect the FO from the back of the PCM and the radio and built in Cd still works - does this mean there is no amp in the system?

Does anybody have a wiring diagram for my car, or advise on the speaker ratings if I were to add an amp?

Thanks

Simon
