I live in Chicago and have a 2014 CS. I put the Continental DWS on in October and they have been great this winter. Was curious to know what dealer you went to for service as I want to try and avoid them. I went to MotorWerks in Barrington for some minor warranty work and they seemed pretty good. Don't know much about Loeber but they are about the same distance from my house. I am due for my first oil change in about a month.

Thanks for the word on the DWS's.

I bought the car and service it at Porsche Westmont and for what it's worth I'm genuinely disappointed with sales and service.

I looked at Westmont before I bought mine but they didn't seem to want to deal with me. I knew what I was looking for and wanted to nail down a price before driving all the way from Deerfield to see the car. They kept insisting they could do their best when I was there in person. I was dealing with their internet department who should have known better.

I ended up buying from Jim Ellis Porsche in Atlanta. Took 3-4 hours to get the deal done by phone/email. My wife and I flew to Atlanta and drove it home. Was an excellent dealer experience and a fun adventure.

Just a little food for thought on powder coating your wheels or any structural component made from aluminum. Read all four pages. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/w...pros-cons.html

They repeated No Trouble Found and said that the condition now (pictured in the post here at 20,000) isn't "abnormal." They did say, as you guys did, that the "low" ride height adds camber and accounts for that inside wear. Their only recommendation was to replace the rears with the same equipment. I declined replacement tires through the dealer saying that I was dissatisfied with their snow handling.
The service tech was unaware that Pirelli requires documentation of rotation every 5000 miles in order to process a warranty assessment so I'm not even going to waste my time on that. When I pressed why they didn't rotate the tires when they responded to the first handling complaint (and changed the oil), they said that rotation is only by request. It is not scheduled.

Overall I'm dissatisfied with my experience. Next I'm going to have a non dealer shop powder coat the wheels black and go with Continental All Seasons that are a little better in snow than Pirelli Scorpion Verde.
If you are running 20 or 19s , I'd highly suggest doing the Nokian WR G3 tyres. They are " all-weather" not " all season" ( the only tyre in the world with " all-weather" classification) , they are the best 4-season tyre money can buy..I ran them on all my Range Rovers, BMWs, and now my new 14 CTTS has them on it. with 5K rotations, 2-3 times a year balancing , I've gotten 58K out of them ( mind you 95% of my driving is highway driving) . I've gotten stopped by state police for doing 75mph in the non-plowed left lane , they will climb any hill in any weather, and I use them on the cape playing on the dunes on the beach. They are an awesome tyre IF you take care of them. I have e-mailed Nokian asking them to make the G3's in the 21" size, they claim they are working on it. So until then I'll be doing the tyre swap game twice a year. I've ran the tyres on many of my vehicles from the first version until now. I now only buy Nokian tyres, their customer service is amazing, you can call them directly and get a human when and if you do have a problem. Just a suggestion coming from a fellow SUV snow country driver.

DWS is a better than average tyre. What people don't understand is the technical aspects of that tyre. Keep in mind The first 3/32 of the Conti DWS tyres is the " S" snow compound is the first to go, once it's gone it's like any other tyre on the road. and when the D is worn down grab your ankles. That is why they put the DWS tyre wear indicator on the middle of the tyre so you can see what the type of tread conditions the tyre is good for and when you need to replace them.

Nokian WR G3 comes with 14 or 12/32 ( depending on the size) of 100% treadlife of the " all-weather " rating and compound

I forgot to mention, Also have a 4-wheel alignement done... BUT do not do to factory specs.. Make sure you tell them to NOT do the BMW/Range Rover/Porsche Toe-in alignment. That is how all 3 brands get that extra handling out of the vehicles, but you'll chew up tyres 2-3X faster than you should be.

I tell tell them " I want dead flat tyre , dead straight, no toe, no performance tyre eating factory spec alignments. "

Also keep in mind that if you have air suspension , all those specs should be set for your normal mode of driving, If you are a highway daily driver like me 90+% of the time then you need to have them set the dead flat, dead straight specs in aero model, not normal mode. If you are a around town driver ( under 50mph) , occasionally on the highway then have them do the dead flat , dead straight in the " normal" height mode.
