It's Battery TIME Again....
What is my best bet? Paying $650/installed at the $tealer.....or getting one somewhere(what is rating/specs?) and installing it myself? Any DIY tips is greatly appreciated!

The link below provides very simple instructions to replace for less than $200 and 20 minutes of install time. If you want an OEM battery below link shows the Interstate AGM H8 Battery which is a relabeled OEM Varta. If you don't want to do it yourself, then go to an independent Porsche shop, as they will charge far less than the dealer.
The proper battery size is a Group 95r aka H9. Many guides list a Group 49 (H8) or Group 94r (H7) for the V6, but the factory size is the 95r.

If you cannot get, or don't want the Varta, the best alternative is an East Penn Deka Exact Fit AGM Battery, part number 9AGM95R.
Following that, and more easily available are Group 49 (H8) batteries which are about 2" smaller in length. These are available as rebadged East Penn Deka AGMs from Autozone as the Duralast Platinum and Die Hard Advanced Gold.
Keep in mind the H9 battery is probably over sized for this application, but this is part of the reason that it lasts so long (the other being that it is not exposed to high heat in the engine compartment, which is what kills batteries). The H8 batteries have a slightly lower reserve capacity (the Cold Cranking Capacity is overkill on all of these), which over time will lead to a slightly shorter life as the overall capacity of the battery is less. I would avoid using a 94r (H7), as the reserve capacity is far lower than H8 & H9 batteries.

Don't spend a penny more for installing a battery at dealerships or indi shops. It's a very easy DYI job. I got my h9 95r oversize battery for 150$+tax and installed in their parking lot in 20 minutes or less.

Autozone sells crap batteries. As a person who owns 8 cars I'm done with them. I can't get any of their batteries to last longer than 3 years. I'm going back to battery wholesale as I have a battery for my 944 turbo from them that is still going strong after almost 9 years!!

Just picked up a new OEM Porsche (Varta) battery tonight for $207 from a local Porsche/Audi dealer. Another Porsche dealer in town wanted $394 for same battery but that was a Porsche only dealer. The Audi Q7 takes the same battery as my Cayenne Turbo S.
