04 Cayenne Issues

Firstly, thanks all for your inputs and ideas
I removed the battery ( OE spec Moll ) and took it to Canadian Tire who hooked it up to their battery Analizer overnight, had a call the next day to say the battery tested good, the guy said its a very powerful battery and is working as it should ..
I spent several hrs pulling the car apart, firstly removing the shifter components looking for signs of failure ... Nothing apparent
Then the gauge cluster came out. I was trying to get to a clicking relay behind the cluster which coincided with the PUT SHIFTER IN POSITION P message .. Cluster out and still no way of reaching anything, I Then gave in and took the PIG into my local Indy, they guessed battery and said regardless if the battery hasn't been changed in the last 3-4 yrs they would recommend a new one, called Porsche Vancouver who quoted 550 + taxes just for the battery .. My Indy sourced the same battery from either vw / audi for 278 and fitted it ..
cayenne FIXED, so in my case with symptoms as described, the battery was the issue 100%
Had the car back for 3 days and it's running perfectly with no issues, hope this thread may help others diagnose in the future
