To be fair tho 04's were subject to beta teething issues and if the owner did not keep on top of them under warranty ...
If i would just know which was the cheapest tool that can do this. Anybody having a clue?

I think it is going to be pretty hard to find such a tool here.
Is this what you mean?
http://shop.martech.pl/en/martech-fu... one you mean?

Yes, I used to use their equipment... Great products

Another option is to swap epprom from your old radio
Or clone epprom from working one.

This is more then i need i guess, i only need one module for unlocking my stereo it seems. I emailed them asking which setup i need and how much it would cost. Still waiting for reply. I also found that Becker usa can unlock my stereo for 275 $, with shipping to and from that would be like 675$. If there where only an easier, read cheaper, solution.

I just looked in to 23 model and it looks like there is no code set, radio is tied up to dme and needs to match.

Did you replaced radio? Or anything else?

Find someone with piwis and remarry radio / pcm

i don't know if radio has been replaced but i don't think so. I'll keep looking for someone with piwis but i have a feeling i won't find it where i live. Very few Porsches here and nobody who works on them it seems.
That's why i'm trying to find out if i can do it for myself without spending a whole lot of money.

Check Loren's renntech.org. Maybe that site has a soln. I probably do aftermarket at this point since there is no freaking aux input. Mike

Aftermarket is even more expensive.
Renntech.org is just another forum right? I can't find no such thing there.

Ok, so i didn't give up yet, what i did yesterday:

i took out the cdr23, disconnected all cables and when reconnecting sounds starts to play for a few seconds then goes to protect. Seems strange but now at least i know amp and speakers are working. I am planning on shipping the cdr23 to Beckerusa, but that's quite costly and takes at least 3 weeks. They claim they can reset the radio and protect message will not come back anymore.

So as i planned to send the radio with DHl intl shipping, i went driving a little when to my suprise radio started playing, protect message still displaying though and buttons not responding, nor volume nor other buttons. display on instrument cluster shows radio off.

Now when i start the car sometimes it plays for a few seconds then goes to protect, without sound, it also happened 3 times that the radio did not stop playing.

I wish there was a way to get rid of this message without shipping the radio across the world.

I did find a solution , but i still don't like it, i can send it to Beckerusa, they'll do whatever they do and then i'll just have to plug and play it in my CS. I don't like the solution because it would take almost a month including shippind and would also cost +500usd

It seems as if almost no-one has ever encountered this problem.

I would just go aftermarket at that point.

Mine got swapped at the dealer so they must do their magic there.
