Now that I've given my base V6 gasoline loanear back and had my CD returned, the CD is *significantly* smoother, much less NVH, probably noticeing the difference more now that winter is over (CD clatters more when cold). Way more shove off the line. 0-60 times are supposed to be the same, V6 gas really only beats the CD at higher speed passing maneuvers, but you really have to cane it. So I would say CD clear performance advantage in daily urban driving, (doesn't feel like much will beat it 0-30), V6 gas slight advantage at higher speed passes. And V6 gas does again feel lighter in the front end to me and noticeably more nimble.

What chokes me is that the new Audis are getting tweaked versions of this diesel engine, I'm seeing 428 lb-ft torque (stock CD as it currrently stands is 406), also , have I seen this right on some websites - 258 hp? I know the 428 torque figure is correct. Why did Porsche hold out on us?

Anyways, to OP would be interesting to see what the refresh shows, if it'll bring engine changes/upgrades.

Also agree with other poster re. special ed. models prior to refresh, I think I've observed this before with other brands and models, trying to compensate for anticipated waning demand by mildly improving content/value.

Would anybody have any reliable info on whether the CDS is coming to N.A. ? Would ding GTS sales from what some say.

It looks like 2015 is on the horizon, from what the rumors say, V8s gonna go in way of V6-Turbo, a new Hybrid based on Panamera, and a refresh of Diesel (probably the same as latest Audi) with cosmetic updates.

Doesn't seem that huge of an upgrade, I may wanna wait and see if 2015 cars would push 2014 or earlier prices down.

The CD feels like it has about 40 more hp than the base and it has a much more pleasing sound. The reason I got rid of my base was the droning of the exhaust at low rpm. Drove me nuts. My dealer says the six is just a noisy engine and there is nothing that can be done. As to the platinum package, you get the 19" wheels, PCM with nav, heated steering wheel, heated front seats, Bose, platinum paint highlights, sunroof. I priced it out vs optioning the CD and you save about $1,000 as I recall. The only options I added to the platinum were the pano roof, tow hitch, 14 way seats so I could add the seat ventilation.

4-zone is available on European Cayenne Diesel.

It's not available on models that have DEF systems. I've heard that this is because something in the DEF system occupies the same space that some of the rear AC components need.

Hi, I was in the same position as you a few years ago, looking for something bigger and I purchased a 09 cayenne. Your reason to buy a cayenne over a vw or audi was not my reason or probably not for most on here. We bought it because we love Porsche, and it is the best suv out there. I needed a bigger everyday car, and found it in texas, three states away. It was a used certified pre owned base model that was two years old. I love it as a everyday car, yes the turbo or s would be better but I did not want to spend the extra cash on it. I have a 993 cab for my fun weekend car. I initially looked on the Porsche site, but they did not list all the cars. I went to every dealer site in states that were relatively close and found it. Flew to Austin and drove it back.

I chose my pepper for all that, plus it allows me to continue the great comradship of PCA. PCA has been a lot of fun over my many years being a member.
