Default Floor jack/jack stand recommendation

I am looking to pick up a floor jack and some jack stands. Anyone have a recommendation for a decently priced make/model? How much lifting capacity do I need?

TIA

AC makes the best, IMHO. More expensive, but worth it. There is simply nothing like the quality of their jackstands and jacks.

How much weight capacity do I need? I know the truck is over 6000 lbs, but I assume I don't need a jack to support the full weight right?

Mine has been on a couple of scales (taking trash to the dump ect) and it came in around 5500 lbs IIRC, I know very well it wasn't over 6000 on any scale.

I too have the AC jack and it's superb, I use the ESCO flat top jack stands, cant be beat IMHO. I'll look for a link.

Found link Search Google for Esco Flat Top Jack Stands, many sources.
