Great job with the details ngfan, It almost feels like I went on the tour/pu. I really would have enjoyed the test track experience for I am a Formula 1 freak and it would have been nice driving through replica's of turns from my favorite tracks, I guess Grand Tourismo 3 has to do for now. Thanks again for your efforts in telling your experience.

Wow..... I just finished reading your write-up and looking at your gallery... Outstanding....!!!!! Excellent...!!! Mind if a "stick" this post at the top - and add it to the Rennlist Cayenne owners site?? After a few days - I'd be disappointed to see this thread get moved down into the other pages, so folks might miss it... Simply outstanding!!!!!

ngfan,
Thanks for your excellent narration.
I don't know if I must to cancel my factory delivery, after read your writing seems that I have already been there....
Just one question, my Cayenne will be produced at max. August 14th, do you know how many days must past there between that day and the factory delivery day? How did you fixed the date?....
Thanks once again

Ngfan!

Great post! Very well written and very informative. Thanks for considering my feelings about the Parking Heater. You are more than a Gentleman for being so thoughtful.

I will continue to follow the Parking Heater situation in the U.S. I will probably trade into another TT when some options become available and some fixes are done:

1. Digital Dipstick
2. Software Bugs Fixed
3. Parking heater with Timer
4. Panoramic Sunroof
5. Manual Trans
6. Spare Tire
7. Factory Delivery (U.S.) Thanks Ngfan, have to do this now!

ngfan:

here is yet another "thanks!" for this post, really the best.

Doc:

Is there a US delivery option available, and if so do you think it would be comparable? (most interested in a track demo)

Else, if choosing euro-delivery from the US, would they ship your car to the US afterwards?

Like you I wouldn't be hard-pressed to swap my TT for some of the options you list, if they ever became available.

U.S. factory delivery is currently unavailable. From what I understand shipping back to U.S. is included in the fee. Someone who has done it would have to give more details.

Ngfan,
Very informative and emotional (at least for me) article. If I could afford both the C2 and a Cayenne your article would have pushed me over the top and I would be writing this reply on my wireless laptop PC at the same time I was filling out purchase order paperwork at my P dealer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats and enjoy your motoring experiences.

Thank you all for your great feedback!
I am really happy that you enjoyed the report like I do enjoy my new car

@John D.

Please feel free to add it to the owners site if you like

This report is my show of appreciation for rennlist, its webmasters, moderators and most importantly, all its contributing members. It's simply the most comprehensive, liveliest and easiest to use discussion board about the Cayenne!

@ANDORRA

Hope I didn't take away the thrill of surprise of your upcoming factory collection... Expect a great day in Leipzig and please, don't forget to post your impressions of the tour and pics of your new car here on this board.

As far as I recall the appointments for the date of factory collection can only be done by your dealer AFTER the factory has released the car and given it's OK for pick up (at the factory) or delivery (to the dealers). The car won't be released before the car hasn't left production line and passed the whole process of quality control. After the release has been announced through Porsche's internal computer system your dealer can immediately make arrangements for factory delivery. There seems to be a three or four day buffer time between release and earliest date of factory collection.
Enjoy your trip and feel free to ask if you need more info about hotels etc.

@all

There's a page about Porsche's factory delivery procedure for US customers on the Porsche website. Put your cursor on the Cayenne pic and choose "European delivery" from the pull down menu.
