Looks-wise I will still take my 957 over this.

My big Q is will it have PDK. PCNA saying no PDK but I think they're protecting Macan sales.

Anyone?

I sooo want a PDK but doubt it will happen. Hopefully the Macan's steering wheel will.

I heard some options will become standard along w/ an significant increase in price. That will protect Macan sales right der.

I'd actually be surprised if PDK wasn't included as it not only helps performance, but also provides better MPG which Porsche is desperately looking for! I believe it'd be very close to how Panamera is optioned out, with exception of adding a Diesel. From the looks of it, PDK should be available on all cars but Diesel and Hybrid, AT LEAST it would be the transmission of choice for GTS and Turbo.

Prepare to be shocked then. It's not happening.

Porsche has said that there are no current plans to put the PDK in the Cayenne as it apparently can not handle the 7700lbs tow rating and they don't want to reduce that.

I fully believe that the PDK will make it to the Cayenne eventually, but it will not be in the 958 refresh.

Wish they would offer pdk as option with a lower tow rating. BTW Macan's tow rating is 4409 lbs (2,000 kg).

I can see very good reasons for them not wanting to offer both if they can't tow the same. It would bring into question warranty work problems and also user perception (especially if they tow too much) due to not understanding one automatic does not equal the other automatic. Basically I think it comes down to the usual fear of lawsuits.

Unfortunately companies that want to stay in business can't do so by explaining to their customers exactly how stupid they really are

It's going to get there and I expect we'll see DCTs in 5k-10k lbs tow vehicles over then next 5-10 years. We'll also see them also creep into ever cheaper cars as their costs come down. The question is if that will happen fast enough for VAG to offer a PDK in the next generation of Cayenne or if we might have to wait one more iteration (refresh or full model).

I take the Macan as a good sign that it will be sooner rather than later.
