Default VagCom ( Ross Tech ) on 2011+

Hey Guys,

I have feeling that Rosstech cable might work with Cayenne My2010 as it shares a lot of the stuff ?

Does anyone own the cable to try it ?

I'm OK with testing it on my car if someone is afraid lol. (I'm located in Ancaster ON. )

Which is it, 2010 or 2011? There's a generation change dividing them. The MY2010 is still the 957 generation. The 958 generation was introduced in MY2011. VCDS (Ross-tech) is said to have full functionality on 955 and 958 Cayennes, but monitor-only capability on 958s

Sorry 2011+

I ordered the vagcom, hopefully it will be able to read transmission temperature at least.

This way I will have full setup including all the OEM tools for filling it.

If it will work... Anyone can borrow it once I use it... At least it will be put to some good use.

Good luck. The old 955/957 cars have two K-lines. One for the DME/Motoronics whatever it is called and one for the rest of the electronics. Not sure for the 958. I also know VW recently started encrypting canbus modules to prevent people like us from hacking around. No clue if that was done on the 958s. Might be a coding thing, just speculating of course.

The vag-com only checks the standard 1st k-line.

All from my old man memory, so probably wrong.

I made and adapter for my Vag-Com to swap the k-lines but it was never able to see the modules in my 955. There is even an ini file that has the cayenne and all the modules commented out in the vag-com software you can enable:

Amazing thank you, I think that I will be not able to code for sure.

But hopefully I will be able to read actual data like temps.

Its hard to believe that Porsche would use different stuff them toureg they share so much.
