Default CD Mileage while towing.

Just ordered a new CD Platinum Series for March delivery to replace my 06 Cayenne S. Gas mileage pulling a 5K trailer in the Arizona hills is 10MPG with the S model.

Anyone have towing experience with the CD? What milage can I expect?

I have not towed my Tralex enclosed trailer with the car in it yet with the diesel but I have towed my utility trailer and the clubs enclosed autocross trailer and have averaged at least six miles per gallon better with the Diesel than with our '11 Cayenne S . For comparisons I am getting just at 13 towing the Trailex loaded to about 5600 lbs on long hauls with the "S" so I am expecting to see around 16-18 with the diesel

I tow a 3 ton tractor on a basic 16' flatbed tandem (7500# gross/brakes on only 1 axle). Assuming the trailer weighs ~1700# itself, the combined load likely comes close to the 7700# limit established by Porsche. It's a 70 mile round trip through rolling hills to the dealer for tractor service, which typically returns mpg in the low 20s. To be fair, I've also got a tuning box and use a cetane booster.

I have a 2013 CD and have towed my 20ft enclosed Featherlite loaded with my 2010 C4S and tools/gear. Weight is around 6600lbs. Out of the Bay Area with two passengers and our bags I get about 16-18 mpg on the interstate (I-5) up north to Thunderhill and about 15-16 mpg south to Buttonwillow (I-5). I try to keep the speed ~70mph. There are more hills to the south. If I eased back to 65mph could probably get an extra 2-3mpg I'd guess. Strictly a stock setup on the CD.

I towed my Cayman on a Featherlite open aluminum trailer from Boston to North Carolina and back in November. I averaged upwards of 18mpg traveling at 75mph. If it's a highway with few elevation changes I can get closer to 20mpg with the trailer attached.
