I added a reversing camera to my 2011 Cayenne - installation video
Hi, guys.
I added a reversing camera to my Cayenne 2011, and I made a video of the installation process. So if you are wondering how it is done, take a look!
There are few reversing camera interfaces to choose from, NavTV being one of them that also looks good from my googling. I chose Caraudio-systems, a Germany brand. The kit is called RL-PCM3-TF and looks very professional and had good installation instructions. I paid $489 for it on eBay. Here is the link to the one I bought.
For the camera itself there are loads of options. I wanted a handle cam (as the original) and a CCD version. Here is the link to the one I bought. It is about $100. It has great image and looks just like the original as far as I can tell.
Hope you find the video useful!
Cheers

Hi, no need for the porsche dealer to activate the PCM camera function, you do it yourself. You need to hold down two buttons on the steering wheel in a specific sequence. Here is the sequence:
1. Turn on ignition
2. Wait until the head-unit has booted
3. Press and hold steering-wheel button HASH KEY/MODE
4. Press and hold steering-wheel button ACCEPT (observe the sequence!)
5. Hold both buttons. The PCM makes a reset after 5-10 sec.
6. Disengage both steering-wheel buttons
That's it. The Reverse camera options appear in the menu.
To remove the camera option you use the HANG UP button instead of the ACCEPT button, otherwise the same sequence.
1. Turn on ignition
2. Wait until the head-unit has booted
3. Press and hold steering-wheel button HASH KEY/MODE
4. Press and hold steering-wheel button ACCEPT (observe the sequence!)
5. Hold both buttons. The PCM makes a reset after 5-10 sec.
6. Disengage both steering-wheel buttons
That's it. The Reverse camera options appear in the menu.

The procedure is similar. There is a thread on how to add it on a 955/957.
