On my 08 GTS, the power tilt/telescope functions do work but the steering wheel doesn't tilt up far enough. At its highest setting, there is roughly a 1-1/2" gap between the top of the steering column casing and the bottom of the instrument cluster trim. The issue I have with it is that the steering wheel rim now blocks my view of the gauges.
I've compared this to other Cayennes, and the steering columns all go up much further than mine, to the point where the steering wheel would not block the gauges.
I tried the dealer, but there were no faults in the computers, and 90 minutes of the tech's playing with it yielded nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas? Are there some shims between the steering column and its mounting points that could be adjusted?
