Default Time for new tires...what are you guys running?

2006 Cayenne S. I need new all season tires. I'm running stock 18" rims. What are you guys running? Looking for suggestions so I can read some reviews. Thanks for helping me out with a starting point.

Currently have the ContiSportContact 3. I like them better than the Goodyear Eagles.

How many miles on them Kosmo? Have you driven them in the snow? This is my wife's car and I want to make sure she has good traction in NYC snow when it comes down this winter.

Thanks

if you drive it in the snow the best solution is a set of summers & winters. Look for some used rims for your winters (youll get a great price) and do the swap. youll get better performance & safety

For summers i run Pilot Super Sports.. know a few 911, Cayman & Boxster owners that do and love them

For winter i always go with a sportier winter tire

Continental ExtremeContact DWS. I'm on my second set. It's the best tire I've ever had on the Cayenne. I run Michelin Latitude Alpin tires in the winter.

Thanks Dennis. Looking at the Conti's now. Pretty good reviews and they are not super expensive. Top of my list at this point.

I also own 2k6 CS and running at the moment Michelin Lat Sport, those rear quick due to the compound and weight of the P!G. Look for the threadware....around 400 if you look for long lasting tires. Next week going to install new rims and new Yoko Parada Spec, great reviews, performance and Price. Around $136 each at Discount T. Pay attention to those gorillas they are famous for screwing up and scratching rims like hppened to me to my Brand New rims, somehow they scratched the interioir of one rim where the balancing weights goes glued. Right now they are "fixing" the brand new rim suposedly they sent it to a shop for repaint. Lets see What i will get.

The Continentals have been very popular. They offer good snow traction if you see it and are pretty responsive in dry conditions. Please give me a call if I can help you discuss options.

I'm currently running the Pirelli Scorpion Verde's. Great ride, great grip - that's what matters. Obviously, you can't go wrong with Michelins either.

I'm still a big fan of the Vredestein ULTRAC SUV SESSANTA (now on 4th set of tires, very soon on 5th!) after the first one, OEM that was Michelin Diamaris. Better handling, same or a bit better lifetime, very nice looking.

2011 Cayenne "S": Michelin Latitudes all season on 19" wheels. Over 36,000 miles of which over 10,000 miles are towing. This part of Texas is not kind to tires with some rough back roads and rather warm summer temps. Tires still have 5/32 of tread depth left, inside tread grove 4.5/32 remaining. Will easily get 40,000 miles before I buy new ones and they will be the same tire. They are quiet and surefooted

Driving conditions aside, you generally only get what you paid for. I had a poor impression of the Goodyear LS on my Touareg, and of the ContiContact on the Mercedes before that. So I specified Michelin Latitude Tour HP GreenX when I ordered my '13 Cayenne. They are on a short list of Porsche-approved tires (N1). The car was unfortunately delivered with Contis, but the Michelin request was well documented. So I wouldn't accept delivery until the Michelins were installed. I've since driven them 10k miles through four full seasons (and three snowstorms), and don't have a single complaint.

Specific to your car, here is a link to the a list of Porsche-approved all-weather/winter tires.

I bought the Yokohama Parada Spec X because they came out on top in the tire rack survey and are very quiet, since my last tires were so noisy. They have been excellent!!!

I'm running Mickey Thompson street comps. They're a little harder ride than the Pzeros but other than that they work great and are 1/2 the price of the pirellis.
