Default Towing with 6-speed GTS

Looking for real world experience from those of you who have towed with a 6-speed GTS.

...wasn't really planning on the manual transmission but the perfect car has come up other than transmission and I'm curious to hear more from those who have experience.

I never towed with mine, but the gearing should be perfect. Hill-holder works very well once you learn to "believe it is there", and I never had any issues with my clutch, despite regular off-road use (i.e., hill-holder good).

Huge 2nd here on hill holder and off road use. We regularly hit a series of trails in SW Colorado that have a point that requires a turnaround with a 70 degree hill waiting for the careless. Hill holder takes a leap of faith, but it's perfect. And on inclines in SF, it's hugely valuable.

Given the low gearing you should be fine - I launch in 2nd 60% of the time as long as there's no incline.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how much you enjoy the manual in these beasts when driving around town.

Great feedback. Need to go drive it and confirm the wife can put up with the 6-speed as a daily since she will be the one driving it other than when I'm towing to the track

Good luck with that

FWIW, my wife loved driving the GTS with purpose or attitude, but I doubt she would have put up with it as her daily. Mucho respect to you if you pull it off You will have and be eating your proverbial cake.

bumping this back up. Drove it this weekend and it's a pretty nice vehicle, wife didn't have an issue with the stick as much as I thought she would.

Need some help with the "What's it worth" game. I really haven't done enough research on these to feel comfortable with good deal vs. bad deal. We talked preliminary numbers but I walked until I could do more research.

'09 6-speed GTS
GTS red
Black
24k miles
Has Nav and Premium sound but that's about the only option over standard equipment I think.

no backup camera
no park distance
no pano roof

In-service date is through November so it's got a couple months of warranty left to take care of any little nagging issues we might find.

Clean carfax but rear bumper has been painted...not poorly but it's still been painted.

What's it worth?

Mid to high 40's is what I saw on similar GTS' about 2 months ago. Granted, most of the ones I saw we're 35-45k miles.
If you need to get them down on price, the lack of a backup camera and/or the parking sensors would be one angle.

Do you know if it has PDCC? The easy way to tell is the color of the 3 suspension buttons and the "sport" button. Silver = PDCC, black is without.
