"Brake booster failure" warning light
#16
There have been many forum posts about smoke testing for vacuum leaks, few have reported positive results from doing so.
If this were my Cayenne I would do nothing more but run a diagnostic scan periodically. If you don't already have a scan tool spend the quid to acquire your own.
When the fault becomes persistent it will be easier to sort out.
Be aware that a vacuum leak can be flagged which is actually low vacuum from a weak pump.

I tried unplugging mine shortly after you posted this and started getting warnings every time I started the car up. They have not gone away. I think I like the brakes and pedal feel more without the booster running as well! It might really depend on what pads you are running. It tames down the softer pads that have a lot of initial bite.

Does anyone know where these pipes are on a 4.8 GTS please?
I seem to only get the alarm sometimes when its cold in the mornings.

my brake booster vacuum line cracked today, and my brakes do not work well at all now
mine is cracked like the ones in the pictures above , its the line that goes under through the fire wall
Im trying to buy a new line, but cant find the name or part number of this specific line
can anyone tell me what line that is and how hard it is to disconnect it at the other end, I assume its goes to manifold?
please help, I do want to do this myself, Im trying to do all maintenance work on this car to keep it reasonable.
