Just installed new coilpacks from suncoast.. Rev 12's!

Car fired up.. sounded like 1 conga and then silent.. I'm off for a test drive shortly but i'd say you have misfire issues.

New updates! Many thanks to my local porsche specialist Akram! Removed both PCV units to find them leaking copious amounts of oil and underneath the d/s PCV valve itself there is a formed plastic 1/2" vacuum tube which was broken. ~$127 each for the PCV's (these are the center inserts for the valve covers as in, the whole thing) and $34 for the vacuum line. The noise is GONE! Also of note, when the dealer installed the new plugs during the 4/48k service they did not fully torque to specification. Full PIWIS scan shows everything as it should be.. very pleased!

Dear Switchfoot614,

Thanks for the update. I didn't know that you have actually updated me about this cause this was placed in the 2nd page....my mistake.
Anyway, I will try to check mine and see if it has the same problem. Let you know!

Thanks again.

Picked the GTS up today.. congo noise is gone.. vast increase in performance. This was definitely an issue prior to me purchasing the car.. Vac hose under PCV valve is the culprit. $37.. replace both PCV's while you are in there $127 each.. Also make sure your dipstick is seated all of the way too. Quick test.. unplug 1" vacuum line on top of PCV valve.. re-connect. Noise should disappear and then return after 30 seconds or so.

Hello,

Just picked up my cayenne platinum edition from dealer a month back. Only 3000km on it. The car make strange bang noise from engine compartment when started in cold weather. This only happens when the car is cold and only for initial 10-15 seconds, after that no problem at all. the noise is very loud as if something exploding inside the engine. the reeves start to drop from 1100 to 700 and then go back to 1100 until the car warms up? Took it to the dealer and he couldn't find any issues. Any ideas? you can see and hear the engine in the attached link.https://www.dropbox.com/s/xnc6ad13bs..._0383.MOV?dl=0

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm having the same issue with my 2009 GTS. I recently had a valve lift solenoid replaced and I'm not sure if this started after or before the work was done. Do you or anyone reading this thread know the part numbers for the PCV's and the vacuum line?

Porsche Part# for the Oil Separator. 948-107-236-02

Last edited by kiddhardware; 09-11-2017 at 07:26 PM. Reason: adding part number.

Sorry for the resurrection, but what’s the part number for the vacuum line?
