05-06 Potential Purchase Questions.
Hello everyone, I would like to ask a few Qs regarding the CTT ownership experience.
I am going to be buying a car in about six months, looking to spend $25-30k. My short list of cars is E55k, CTT, E60 M5. CTT is on the list due to practicality reasons and decent off-road capability. I know that it is giving up the performance to the E55 and M5, but utility is a trade off I am willing to accept.
I am not financing the car, and will be buying from the private seller. So aftermarket warranty is most likely not applicable. I will PPI the car and go from there.
With CTT my main questions are:
1) Other than coil packs, coolant pipes, and cardan shaft are there any other "big" items? I know that CTT comes with the air-suspension, and from reading the forums I did not see many catastrophic failures. How is transmission and turbos reliability?
2) I prefer to do my own maintenance on cars. I serviced all my previous cars myself including luxury cars. How friendly is CTT to DIY? I have very little desire to take the car to the stealer.
3) I am looking to get 75k miles and lower car. How do cars hold up past 100k, 150k?
4) Oil consumption issues. I read through some threads here stating that car uses a quart per 500 miles? Is that normal?
Thanks,
