Default 7 year old battery till I killed it

I have a 2006 V6 with about 51,000 miles on it. I got distracted by my kids while getting out of the car in my driveway, and left the key in the ignition. Needless to say, my battery is dead. I have a charger, but am leery about driving around on a revived 7 year old battery.
I looked at the Interstate and was unimpressed with the MTP-94R/H7 - it only has 640 CCA, while the DieHard Gold - Group Size 94R has 765 CCA, and the Duralast batteries put out 790 and 800 CCAs.
I know the Interstate is popular, but I am looking at those differences in CCA.

Why not take the battery to PepBoy or AutoZone to load test it? I accidentally left the interior map light on twice in one year while parked the car at the airport for a week, boosted the battery and everything is just fine even through winter.

That said 7 years is a long time for a batter, so it really is up to you if to go ahead and change it out.

There are (2) versions of Interstate battery for the Cayenne. The one that pulls up when you use Interstate's web site is the smaller one. If you take the old battery into one of their dist. sites they can tell you the direct replacement for the stock battery (you may be able to ask them for the larger one though).

I have used the smaller / web site suggested battery for about a year now, no issues, and my P!g is not a daily driver.

I just got my 2006 two weeks ago. according to the cayenne s manual, it may have a second battery under the spare wheel.

do they?
what is it for?
do they both need to be replaced simultaneously?
how do you know which one would be bad if having a problem?
