I was picking the car up from the dealer the other day and my son asked me to buy him a Porsche t-shirt that was on display. I said no way, it has Porsche on it, it costs twice as much as a regular t-shirt. I said if you want it in a color other than white it will cost more. God forbid you want deviated stiching on it, I will have to get a second job...

The lady in the cashier window who I was paying for the service could not stop laughing... She said its all true!

Well, the right heat gun for the job was about $90. The dealer charged me $75 to install the black trim piece, it took about 30 minutes and I was out. It looks good and I am glad I did not do it myself this time.

Has anyone tried to paint these parts with a Satin Silver spary paint? Mine have faded as well and thouhgt about giving a shot, seems like the worst thing to happen is that I wind up replacing them anyway. Since my S is white, not sure I would want to black out all the silver.

Use fishing string to cut the glue... It will not damage paint just use gloves so you don't cut yourself

A little off topic but what do you all think of this? I am really tired of my silver trim?

What thickness and series of 3M VHB did you all use to install the new trim strips?

Thanks,
