Well I searched a bit and haven't found much on it. However I remember a few weeks ago reading about it. Any ways my CS usually shows D1, D2, D3, etc then in Manual mode M1, M2, M3 etc. However the past few days it sometimes just reads "D" in the center display. Any idea what is up? Or is this typical?

Had that happen with my 2006 S. Took the center console apart and found out that the previous owner was a pig (no pun intended). Cleaned everything off, reassembled it, and, presto, it all works and has been flawless.
Be careful if you do this, as the shift **** can be tricky on re-installation. You need to locate the two torx screws at the back of the center console.
