Default 2005 Cayenne & Powertrain Error Msg

HELP!!
My 2005 Cayenne (base mode) all of a sudden acting up . I saw a message for "Faulty power train" in the display couple of days ago but it went away. The photo on the display showed 4wheels on a frame type.I don't see any engine light, but I do see an "exclamation type" sign.
I drove it fine to work yesterday and on the way back home I couldn't make it go higher then 35mph. I tried to press the gas, but i felt the body was shaking and making a grinding noise. Any idea what it might be? I'm afraid to even take it to the Porsche shop to get an estimate.

Have you replaced your battery recently? If the battery gets old, all kinds of strange things happen. Check the warnings on the dash and it will give you some info on the "!".
