Help Understanding 4 Wheel Alignment 04 CTT
Hi all
My recently purchased late 2004 CTT had a 4 wheel alignment done pre purchase and i have since found problems with the rear tires which suggests something was wrong with the set up and i am hoping its been rectified with the alignment but cant interpret the information on the print out, can somebody explain what was wrong and if the new set up is correct for the CTT please?
Before and after print outs below i assume red on the before means out of spec? My rear tyres are castellated now and sound bad, does the red data suggest the set up caused it, if so how come only one side?
Thanks in advance
Carl

One big thing is they was not caster sweep measurement. Therefore cause all the adjustment to not quite be accurate. That is why the caster one is in grey. I think you need to go somewhere else for a correct aliment.

When aliment of a car is made before you start there is a rolling compensation then a caster sweep. The rolling compensation rolls the car car from front to back on the rack to center with the sights of the beam. The caster sweep you turn the steering wheel to get the total caster from a left to right with in the steering making more accurate. Since it was never done that's why there was no adjustment and you always adjust the camber and caster first before the toe, if the toe was adjusted and the camber and caster where not the your aliment is probably worst now then before.
1. you make sure after the you pull the car on the rack that the front disks are dead center of the front tires.
2. you then mount the heads flush with the wheel (important). if not flush all measurement will be off.
3. then you do the rolling compensation.
4. then you do your caster sweep.
5. then you adjust the camber in rear FIRST then the rear toe.
6. then you adjust the front camber/caster then you do your toe.
7. just to make sure all is well i do one more caster sweep after my adjust to see if its all accurate if there was a centering of the steering wheel needed.
