Default Yellow Brake Calipers?

Can someone enlighten me if I have upgraded brakes or is the yellow brakes standard?

The yellow calipers signify Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes these brakes are optional for certain models. The carbon, fine-ceramic compound of the PCCB's are lighter in weight and more resistant to high temperatures than traditional brakes and are a high dollar option but well worth it.

With that being said, do I need to purchase OEM PCCB's or aftermarkets like Hawks will work.

They have to be painted or add ons, pretty sure 05's were not available with ceramic from the factory

Need to make sure first what they are for sure, you may have to buy OEM if they are factory ceramics

After zooming in the rotors are suspect with that large a lip on them

I think they are painted. I don't think the PCCB were an option on the 05 or 06 models. ( I can be wrong of course). I have the 06 Cayenne Turbo S and it came with red brake calipers standard...

Guess only way to tell for sure is to take it to a Porsche Dealer. If they are nice they will look and tell you free of charge.

Keep us posted on what you find out...

Those rotor hats don't look like they're PCCB rotors. PCCB rotors are 2-piece floating rotors.
