Default Seats wont go down dealer wants $600 !

Did find one issue with the new car before I paid for it. THe driver seat has all the adjustments except it wont go straight up or down. Its perfect for my wife as it sits but is too damn high for me really. Dealer said it is a 500-600 fix for this you can hear the motor working it just doesnt go up or down. All the other adjustments work perfectly.

any ideas ?

find a reliable indy in your area. dont need dealer to repair a seat. especially if its not under warranty.

Any trip to the dealer that costs you three figures instead of four is a victory, as far as I'm concerned. A good indy is a very good thing if you own a Cayenne.

even better is if you can read, surf the net and turn wrenches yourself there is a lot you can do on these p!gs without gettin fleeced. this website alone is worth it's weight in gold for info on the p!g. read the sticky's!!!!! If you dont find it throw a question out. youll get an answer.
my 04 drivers seat wouldnt go up. faulty seat switch. was last fix under warranty. sigh, the days of someone else fixing my car was over. then the nekkidness began. dont get me started.

Dealer said the part was $200 and labor 300-400 Was thinking about it and wondering if I could just use te part from the passenger side seat. Doesnt matter if that goes up or down. Just leave it in down position. If its the switch I wouldnt think it would still make the noise when we try to adjust it.
