Roof Rack

Thanks, removal was pretty easy, not sure on an 11'. All you do is pop out the little rubber gromets, use an allen wrench to remove the retaining bolts and pull off the bars. You then use the allen wrench to losen the retainers and then push them down to slide them out of the track, only took a few minutes start to finish. I think my gas mileage went up by .001 percent.

I like it !! Makes it look a lot cleaner.
Unfortunately it's not possible without some body and paint work involved.
how did you do it? I want to do it on my '11 958 but keep hearing it's impossible ..

No holes that would rust, I would look for a new dealership. There is a channel that attaches the rack to the roof with three mounts with spring tension to keep in them in place. The rack sits over these mounts and screws into the mounts with allen head bolts from the backside of the rack. The bolts are covered by some little plastic caps. The rack is very easy to remove and I would never spend any money for the dealer to remove. Give it a try, you can do it.

I think the 955/957 look much better without the rack. I have a Thule system that quickly attaches to the roof tracks when I need it.

KM, can you take a few closeup photos of the roof where the rails were attached? I want to do the same but I don't want to do it if its going to leave me with large holes.

Will post up some pics if you would like. There are not any holes, just the channel that runs down the roof line. Will get you some photos this week, they are just black aluminum.

Ok, So I took Km1.8t's lead and went for it! Here are a few photos of my black CTT for contrast to Km's white CS. I also took a few more photos of the roof with the rails off as well as all the hardware. I hope this is ok with you Km1.8t as I wanted to expand on the removal but I don't want you to feel I have highjacked your post.
