Default 2006 cayenne s, shift points change when psm

when i turn off the psm, the shift points change. The transmission stays in gear longer before changing gears. Also, when stopped, the trans goes into 1st instead of staying in 2nd. Why?
Thanks
Ed

PSM off also means sport mode.

If your car doesn't have air suspension, then there are no settings to change, are there?

PSM = Please Save Me

By leaving PSM "ON" for extended periods of time leads to the dreaded "Grandmother Mode Throttle Delay Transmission Shft Point Adaptation" syndrome. Discussed many times in the past, when P!gs and Dinosaurs both roamed the earth.

By occasionally turning PSM "OFF" and driving the P!g like there is a warm skillet under your seat will help ward off Grandmother Mode.

But not to worry, if with PSM "OFF" if the P!g detects that you are driving WAY over your head and you panic, Please Save Me mode will automatically turn back ON.

I know this is an old thread, but I really got a laugh out of that one.

Yes, it is more enjoyable but don't be surprised when your fuel mileage suffers.

Upgraded from a 2011 Touareg TDI to a 2013 Cayenne Diesel. Liked the Touareg, love the Cayenne. Better performance AND better fuel economy. If you want an idea of how well they're selling, just ask a dealer for one under MSRP. casquette new york noir casquette ny noir casquette obey
