Hi all,
I have a 2006 porsche cayenne, 2 days ago, suddenly the tail gate wont open and also tailgate lid won't open. I do not have power lid/back door closure system but do have hydraulic system that shuts the door completely. After reading the forum, i looked for the fuse but thats ok. I am able to open it manually by removing the small lid inside the door, when i close it, it closes fine with specific sound of hydraulic completely closing the door but then it wont open from outside. However when i try to open it, the light in the driving seat console states back door is open when it is not.
Any help would be appreciated.

From the key, the driver's door release, or both?

Both from the key or from back door opening button. I do not have driver door release.

I would suspect the latch has failed. It may not allow you to open the glass or the hatch if it thinks the hatch is already open.

is there any wa i can check that or fix it or should i take it to dealdership?

Almost positive mine has allowed me to pop open the glass even though the hatch itself was already open.

I have also opened glass door even when tailgate is open.

You must have the "exit only" back door on your Cayenne.

Exit only? what does that mean. I was using the trunk fine till few days ago when above mentioned problem started.

Maybe there is something caught in the latch itself. I had a penny that somehow got under the little flapper door and I could not close my gate.

You might need to buy a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant to get rear entry.

Will it allow you to open the gate if the glass is already open? I've had this issue on a Cayenne before, but I'm having trouble remembering what the source of the problem turned out to be.
