Dennis, hopefully the fire is well north of you?? Are you dry in your area?
My mother has been complaining for months about lack of rain in No. Central FL, now she wishes they would turn off the tap. I'm sure they would love some of the Gulf Coast rain up your way.

Thanks Bill. We could use more rain!
The Colorado fire is well north of us near Fort Collins. My son is a student at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, but he's home in summer break right now.

I'm in Fort Collins. 1 colleague evacuated and one of my folks may have lost her house. Waiting for news which is slow to come. So much going on that resources to take inventory of structures lost are non-existent. Effort is ongoing to save homes, not try to contain yet. Lots of ash and of course, the smoke is unbelievable.

The smoke is visible even down here in Evergreen, which is ~90 miles south of the fires. Everything is hazy here, and we can definitely smell smoke. My understanding is that this fire (the High Park fire) has destroyed almost 40,000 acres and is still burning out of control 14 miles west of Fort Collins. Scary stuff!
Hopefully the winds will die down and we'll get some rain up there to help the effort...
