A question for Adrian
Hi Adrian
On the "non-event" thread you said

quote:
Possibly why the chief of the PCNA is being replaced.

Has there been much in the Euro press about why he's leaving/retiring? Seems like an odd time to me. In a year, after the Cayenne is launched would make more sense.
Having deliberately chosen an American for PCNA the last time, why a German this time?
Having observed boardroom behavior for some time, an inquiring mind wonders.
Thanks

Mike, from my experience the majority of the Euro Press hardly ever mention that PCNA exists, let alone make reference to the makeup of the board. All decisions are inferred to have been Stuttgart originated.
From a strictly European perspective, the US is clearly the largest market for Porsche but one suspects that the tail does not wag the dog as it were....

Only that since it is a big market, and a new executive is being named, it may have been announced there.
I know Adrian frequently refers to a level and depth of press coverage on PAG that we don't get.
Of course we don't hear anything about British Leyland either

Not taken as egocentric at all Mike, just an interesting management dilema for Porsche AG, with the US so important, what is the best way of keeping your main market happy, when in some ways the home market is very different? Not that easy to square the circle one suspects.
One area where US "independence" seems to me to have created difficulties is in the aggressive marketing of racing success. Such marketing has been, I believe, much more low key over here - so subsequently there has not been such a loss with the suspension of prototype racing. Different matter in America though as we well know....
