Autoweek Review of Cayenne Turbo
The 11/4/2002 issue has a first drive review of the turbo model on the autobahn and in the twisties. It is a very favorable and complimentary review. It claims performance is very much "Porsche-like" in handling, acceleration and ride comfort. Very sporty indeed. They said an off-road test was coming soon.

But then just which manufacturer will be as idiotic as Freddie and even think about following?
Other than bragging rights, and as against what, just what does the either Cayenne have to offer?
Anyone notice that the high HP X5 isn't an off-road vehicle?

That thing is supposed to be a beast, they say it has more torque than the new Gt2 at 2000 rpm. They say it handles like you wouldn't believe. The top speed is faster than what they stated. I think this is not going to be a disappointment like everyone thinks.

I don't get your point.

I liked the comments about driving at 165 and the project manager assuring them that "at any speed on smooth, dry pavement we could conceivably handle the steering wheel with just the thumb and forefinger of one hand." Should work well for your typical minivan driver who loves screaming down the fast lane with one hand on the wheel, cellphone in the other!
Fast too, .3 sec faster than the Neon SRT-4 0-60.
Interesting for a completely new vehicle, not one comment on how it looks. I guess if you have nothing good to say, ........
