So a bit off topic, but I just read that Range Rover is developing and testing an ultra-long travel suspension (like the current one isn't already) and a 12 cylinder engine that is said to be extremely fast.

Maybe take some wind out of the Cayennes turbo sails.

Is it another BMW engine (doubtful) or is it the crappy Jaguar 12 cylinder?.

I think the current RR has reached its Zenith, and Ford will only screw it up in the future, but would love to be wrong.

I believe Aston is the source of the 12-cylinder engine in testing.

Everything I know about it is from this small Autocar story, 12/4/02 issue:

"Car Gossip Latest: We hear that Range Rover mules trundling around PAG's Gaydon facility have a big secret under their bonnets: Aston Martin's V12. Our sources confirm that engineers are testing the Vanquish's 460hp 12-cylinder unit in the 4x4 - but don't expect sales before 2004."
