Dear J959,
You sure have me confused. In one post you have this,
"car: in the building double twincharged 911 with a much updated 959 style body"
Now you are talking 993 Turbo body kit which is one heck of a long way from a 959.
Now you are slotting in a Lexus V8 and bolting on 2 turbo chargers.
Me thinks you need to play an awful lot of Blackjack to afford this lot. Some of us have been around a while and know the costs of such things.
Anything is possible given the engineering and the deep pockets. I even saw a Rolls Royce Dart grafted into a P-51 Mustang but it never flew,
Ciao,
Adrian

Dear Christer,
I am not sure about your post being removed. However I think I am going crazy. The posts from J959 today seem to me to be different from Friday. Edited, things I remember reading are not there anymore. Maybe it is just me. I was very busy on the weekend and had no time to visit.

i guess it is just you....
you may be confused....i have talked about engine setups, i hadn't yet decided which direction i was going to go...originally (before this board), i was going to put a lexus v8 into it....i had come to this conclusion 6 months ago when i first thought about getting a porsche....that was when i was a fresh out of high school, and broke...
now i have a lot more money (for my age), and thought about more expensive options....
after all of this i still have decided to go with the lexus v8....it's high tech, cheap, bulletproof (alot more than a porsche), and potentially very powerful (again, more than a highly tuned, and strained 911 turbo engine)
again, this is because of discplacement, as the engine has around the the same reline as a 911 engine
remember, to increase power, you need more torque, or higher revs....this engine will always out-torque the porsche engine, and will rev as high=more power
i'm not saying it's a better engine, (repeat, it not a BETTER engine), it's just more suited to my application....
again....i am going with the LEXUS V8.....
(flames coming... )

i hope this clarifies everything.....
about the body kit....as the chassis does not have the bumpers. doors, fenders and quarters, i needed a body kit (i want my car to be light)
i started looking around a while ago at bodykits, the 959 caught my attention as a body shape with potential....little changes, it would look good....
in the end, i've decided to go with something simpler.....a 993 kit....at the moment i'm looking into the GT Racing 993 evo kit, with the gt2 flare set....
they make them in carbon fiber as well as fiberglass, the carbon fibre not being that much more expensive....
i have't decided on transmission yet....if anyone would like to help....
a beefed up g50 or a proper racing transmission (easy, if the racing transmission can fit, then it's the best choice....6spd seq, much lighter than the g50, and probally works out cheaper (15k AU, 8k US)
i'm sure what i've said in the last 2 messages has been pretty clear.... <img src="graemlins/offtopic.gif" border="0" alt="[offtopic]" />

ahhh just read your comment on blackjack....like my mother...
put it this way....if i play at the $50 dollar table....with my strategy, and if i play disciplined, i will see a $25 profit on every bet placed....
hands per hour can vary greatly, but just say that's 80 hands per hour (not that quick)
that would be equal to $2k (1.2US) per hour...
my income is only limited by the amount of time i put in....

Doesn't this hold true for engines of all displacements

an smaller engine will ALWAYS have to rev higher to make the same power as a larger engine....
rev the larger one higher, and the larger is again in front....
why do you think porsche has always increased discplacement???to get more torque, and in turn to get more power (and drivability of that power)
sure, you could have a 2L revving the crap out of it self (if it was strong enough), to catch up to a 3.6L carrera engine....rev the 3.6 a little higher and the 3.6 is again in front....

ADRIAN.....the costs of getting a lexus v8 and tt'ing it is much MUCH less than building a 600hp 930 turbo....
that is one of the main reasons i am going with the lexus engine.....these were my pros cons...
porsche 930:
1. Porsche engine belongs in a porsche
2. That sound
3. A porsche really should have a porsche engine
4. Other owners of porsches might look down at
my (superior in most cases) car
Lexus V8 (1UZ-FE):
1: Much cheaper (in Aus anyway)
2: Stock internals are stronger
3: v8 w/ quad cam, 32v, all aluminium, engine
4: lighter than a porsche engine (i think 993s,
996s as well
5: More cubes=more power potentially
6: Engine is relatively new
7: Easy and cheaper to service
8: Strong v8s go well with nitrous
9: Nice sound
10: Extremely smooth engine
11: Can add 2 big turbos without worrying about
too down torque
This is everything that comes to mind....i love the porsche 930 engine (haven't been in a 993tt yet...)
BUT, the lexus v8 just happens to suit ME better...it probally doesn't suit most of you, buth then again it doesn't have to...it is my car...

turby your wrong...supras NEVER had a v8...they had the 7mgte (3L six), then a 1jzgte (2.5 tt six)
then a 2jzgte (3L tt six)
and by the way, the supra has been proven to be the strongest engine for bolt on parts.... (so don't look down at it)
the v8 doesn't have any bolt on kit's i've seen, besides a sc system from japan...
you MIGHT be thinking of the HKS Drag supra, which REPLACED it's 2jzgte tt six with a 1uzfe v8....

or you might be thinking of a v6 NA version of the supra engine whixh lexus uses, the 2jzge....
the fact still stands....the lexus v8s are cheap, powerful and bulletproof, and more favorable (in my opinion, and suit my application), than a 911 turbo or any other v8 alternative (incl LS1's)

Dear J959,
Let us get back to the original question. I am very interested in seeing all the building blocks of a project. You claim to have a 993 rolling chassis. Well can we see this. Can you tell us the history of this rolling chassis. VIN, was it a wreck. Where did the chassis come from. These are all very interesting and important points.
You have to understand from one Aussie to another. You are from Sydney, you are an Aussie and I would like to see that we do not have another plonker/BS artist on the boards, especially an Aussie one. I am sure if you are telling us the truth that you will not have any problem in showing us the building blocks of your project. I really look forward to seeing them,
Ciao,
Adrian

sure why not....it'd be good to look at it through the diff stages....
who knows???if your ever at the drags you might see it there, if the nsw porsche club would accept my car, maybe you'll see it at track days...hey, i even want to targa it (now thats a dream...)
if you see a bright red very widebodied 993 with the note of a v8, you'll know i didn't BS
or maybe in a mag if i can get it there??
it'll be around 2 months before it's running....good chance i won't be on this board by then, but my car will be out all the time, i'm sure you'll run into it sometime (i will be making trips to most Aus capital cities for my work)

With the time it took for you to come up with all that, you could've posted at least ten pictures for Adrian.
So how about?
