Post Finally....some off-road pics...

Well, I finally figured out how to post pics on the owner's gallery. Since I don't have DSL, uploading the pics have been a pain. Here are a few for now. I will add more later.

I took mine off roading once. Wife was getting worried. She thought I was going to hurt her brand new car. The car handled very well.

The car was great. As I posted previously:

"It was great. I took it out to our ranch after 3 inches of rain in 2 days. I have the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrains on and they were great. I spent 3 days out there and covered about 300 miles of off roading in that time. Went into low gear some, but never had to lock the centers. The low gears are great for going down steep muddy and rocky hills, as the engine does all of the braking. No need to use the brakes at all. The car basically walks itself down the hill. Since I don't have the air suspension, I didn't try to do anything too crazy (for now)."

What I didn't mention was that I was out there 5 days total, and the first 2 days were spent driving the ranch Suburban around with a chain saw in the back. In anticipation of getting the Cayenne out there, I spent 2 days sawing down anything that might have threatened to scratch the Cayenne up too badly (or at all). I figured if it touched the Suburban, than it was a threat to scratch the Cayenne, and it must come down. I guess that first blemish is always the hardest. I know that with my Jeep, after the first scratch, I didn't care what happened to it after that. Not quite there with the Cayenne yet.

Karl,

Nice pictures! With the weather being so odd this year here in Dallas, I'll bet you're wondering what all that *green* stuff is all around your wheels!

BTW, I saw a midnight blue Cayenne turbo over by Lemmon and NW Highway last Friday. Tried to hail him/her, but got no joy. That makes only the 3rd Cayenne I have actually seen on the roads here. Maybe we need to meet up for coffee some time. Nothing like a picture of TWO Cayennes actually on the road.

Toby,

Not sure if it was the same one, but I went into CarToys on Greenville this past weekend inquiring about a navigation unit, and they had a Lapis Blue Cayenne TT in the shop getting a rear flip down screen/DVD player installed. They let me go look at it and told me that they had to take out the whole headliner out to get the thing installed. Looked like a lot of work.

There is also another Silver S that belongs to someone who works at DeBoulle's jewellers on Preston. He parks it in the back and has the 20" sport techno wheels. It's easy to see if your not busy trying to see what Dennis Boulle (owner)is driving for the day. Dennis went from a 360 Modena to 550 Maranello to Shelby Series 1 in the last year.

I'm up for coffee anytime on the weekends. Otherwise, maybe we can grab lunch or something. Even better yet, maybe we can go out one weekend to the ranch and have a Cayenne 4 wheeling outing.

Thanks Jaime. I need to update the avatar as I went out and spent my PCNA certificate on the stainless steel "decorator" plate for the frontal area. It does make a nice difference in terms of appearance. Seems more uniform with the SS you see on the back of the Cayenne where the liftgate closes.

Hopefuly, I can get the updated pictures this weekend!

I'm in Dallas too and just got a Cayenne S. I'd be interested in meeting up with anyone who wants to get together for an offroading trip or whatever--

Geoff,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Cayenne S ownership. With 3 confirmed here locally, we can almost have our own car show!

Congrats Geoff.

What part of town are you in and what color Cayenne did you purchase? Maybe we can have a Cayenne luncheon sometime in the next week or so.

Toby: Nice 930. Those two look great together. The raw past next to the future refined . . . I have been driving the Cayenne the past few days while on vacation and I forgot how much I like driving the Cayenne. Wife drives the Cayenne. Anyway, there is a point. I love the raw crudeness of my older 911, but the Cayenne is amazingly easy to drive aggressively. Both vehicles, to me, are worlds apart, but ones that only Porsche could create and both are equally pleasing in their own ways.

Sorry to ramble, but this stream of consciousness seemed to be sparked after driving the Cayenne on a 500 mile trip this week,

Hey, guys. My S is White with the beige interior. I love that color combo and it makes it much easier to clean/avoid scratches than a darker color car. Although the dark colored cars sure are pretty . . .. Yeah, meeting up for lunch or whatever sounds good to me. I'm in north Plano. You all?

I'm in the Park Cities area, and work near Central Expressway and Walnut Hill.

Boy, we have a multiforum chat going--here about Dallas, on roadfly about tires! I'm new to the area, so I'm not really familiar with Walnut Hill and Park Cities areas. I live off Spring Creek and the Tollway--

Geoff.
