Abnormal wind noise
My Cayenne is exhibiting a weird whistle coming from the front passenger window, when driving above 80-85mph (on my private race track )
If I lower the window, just a little bit, the whistle goes away. I brought the car to the dealer this week to get it fixed and received a very disappointing "cannot recreate".
Has any of you experienced this issue? Any clue about how to fix it?
Thanks

I drove an S for a week, and it had the same noise, above 70/75 MPH. I thought it was in the sunroof, but my wife said it was the passenger window. This car was a loaner, while I waited for my turbo (which has no similar noises). The dealer said none of the other S's had this noise, but he clearly heard it when we took a drive; don't know what they did about it. I'll check and let you know if I find out anything worthwhile.

Don't you hate when you have a problem that only rears its head at high speeds. It can be difficult to get a dealer to recreate a problem when it only occurs at over 90 or 100 . . . Noise shouldn't be there though. Mine was dead quiet at 107 this morning.

I have a similar whistle on my TT, but I don't think it's an air leak. I've noticed it only occurs when I press the AUTO button on the climate control. Once I lower a window a tad (any window) it goes away. If I put the AC on recirculate, it also goes away.

I did the PDE in Birmingham, AL and when the instructors took us around the track in the TT, my only complaint was the "whistle" from the front passenger door at around 100MPH.
Funny, I have mentioned this to quite a few people since as my only negative about the car.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately, lowering any window but the passenger window does not help. I also tried to change the AC settings with no success.
Looks like I'm heading back to the dealer...

Same thing happened to a really good customers 2004 Cayenne S. Drivers side window whistles over 65-70 mph. I dont think it is the window. I think it is the way the air channels up and over the windshield trim strips....

Just talked to the dealer. Apparently Porsche just issued a new bulletin about this issue. Something related to the door itself.
I'm getting my car fixed on Thursday. We'll see.

I had the same issue with my Cayenne S and my dealer has made several unsuccessful attempts to fix it. They notified me yesterday about the new bulletin and I brought it in today for the fix.
It apparently fixed the problem. Can't hear the noise at 90 mph now. It also alleviated the AC noise problem.
Keep your hope up. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Can you provide some additional detail on the "new bulletin" such a name, etc....? I have yet to hear anything from my dealer.
Which brings about a broader question..... What bulletins have been issued so far? I doubt that my dealer is going to be pro-active about issued bulletins.

My Cayenne was at the dealer again today and this time, it appears they fixed the issue. They told me this noise has something to do with 2 small holes in the door frame. The fix is to fill these holes.
I don't have the bulletin # but all Porsche dealers should be aware of this. Apparently, this can happen to any door but is more frequent on the front passenger door.
Thanks for all the info and support!
