Talking Don't be hatin'! :)

Dear Adrian,

Please take it easy, it took those pictures myself, and the same day I wanted to share them with my friends here. After all, once we get to know eachother, we might once in a while say something not related to the Cayenne. I think it's how people interact. Also the web site name on those pictures is my own web site, it's not an ad but a protection for copyright of the pictures. (my alias sportscarfanatic and web site sportscarfanatic.com)

I myself had problems with people bashing Cayenne or being rude on this forum and that's why I changed the topic on one of my posts. (that's your answer John).

Maybe we need to limit the forum to Cayenne owners or to be soon owners.

That way we can even discuss hamburgers from the Cayenne owners perspective.

Don't be hatin'!

Hi sportscarfanatic,

Let me pop in for a minute - as I just got back from a Rally (I was in my 911 - but there were TWO Cayennes there - simply beautiful!!!)...

Anyway - over the past few weeks, as you noted - I've been trying to keep this Forum "on topic" for Cayenne owners, and as you figured - Adrian is aware of that. I believe that what irked Adrian - is that he asked for the topic to be moved - or keep the posts "on topic" - and for that, one person simply kept on going, so he closed the thread. To be honest - I would have done the same thing...

As a moderator - it's tough enough to try to keep these Forums in focus - and when it appears that a request is being ignored - yes, it is frustrating. As you know - there are other Rennlist Forums like the General, or Off Topic or - whatever which may be more suitible for right now.

For that - I probably should have stepped in first - and told you folks I was moving that thread, but I didn't. So - I owe you "one" ...

Anyway - you are right - in the new forums, you will have your own general area for posts - so please, understand, in the meantime - all of us are struggling with what areas all these things should go in. As well - please keep in mind, that is a moderator asks for something to be moved or stopped - or I do, please respect that, OK? It doesn't mean you have to agree with me 100% of the time (but it would help if you did!!!! ), and if you question why - please pop me an e-mail, and I'll try to explain as best I can..

Thanks for your support and patience - and yep, I hope to have the new site going this week - and there too - I'll probably be asking for your support...!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Best to you!

fanatic -

i could be "saved by the bell" since the other topic was closed, but i'll respond nonetheless:

do i have a cayenne turbo? no. can i afford one? no. do i like the way it looks? no. does it kick ***? yes. would i get one if i could (and in the market for an SUV)? in a heartbeat.

The CRX comment, not comparison, just light hearted illustration. no harm intended.

peace

C

Dear Sportscarfanatic,
I wanted to reply last night but access was very difficult and slow.
We do not limit anyone at any forum. There is a very broad and loose set of rules. I do not like having to play moderator but I did not take the job on to help John out and then not carry out what I have to do. Please remember that it is the posters and complaints who cause me to act not the other way around.
Please keep posts on topic. There are other forums for off topic discussions and also please remember, if somebody comes onto the other model specific forums slagging off at the those models they get hung drawn and quartered. When the Cayenne owning population grows sufficiently one of them can take over from me and I am sure the Cayenne community will take no nonsense either. Until that day arrives I am here to do my little thing. If I am forced to step in please take notice. It is never done lightly and never initially is it ever personal. Only posters who try to challenge the role of the moderator makes things personal. For the record I have been moderating for a number of years and the only forum I have had to moderate more than twice, is this one. I think I have moved a post on the 964 forum and closed another since I cannot remember when I started.
Ciao,
Adrian

PS: Please do not use the word hate and my name in the same paragraphs. Believe me you have no idea what I have been through in the past year or so and I hate nobody even though I have more than sufficient reason to do so.

Sportscarfanatic,

Just wanted to say that Adrian is without doubt one of the most respected people on these forums, as well as also being one of the most knowledgeable and helpful. I have no doubt that he will moderate the Cayenne board with total objectiveness and fairness. Have fun here I am sure the Cayenne is a great car - it is a Porsche after all!! Although unfortunately outside of my price bracket.

All the best.

Dear Tim,
Outside mine to. Thanks for the kind words but I stand by what I say. When the Cayenne owners find their feet and confidence here I will hand over to them. We want this to become the premier Porsche Caynenne site in the whole world as well. Then somebody at PAG owes me a beer.
Ciao,
Adrian

OOOooookkkkkk noooowwwwww.......

Adrian, I just saw that you are connecting from Switzerland. That explains because;

The "Don't be hatin'" was taken from a very recent (2 weeks old) comedy movie mainly released in North America. Starring Jimmy Kennedy, Malibu's Most Wanted.

It was meant to relieve stress not to cause more.

It's a good example that cultural differences must be taken into consideration on an international bulletin board. And the release dates of movies in different countries!

I did not say anything bad about any moderator, their duty or what they do. I just wanted to change the subject and say take it easy to everybody.

So, can we please take it easy and close this subject?

Best regards!
