Porsche Cayenne Steering Wheel Controls Repair
Hello;
I have recently purchased a Cayenne and have been searching on the forum to see what solutions are available for the chipped and discolored steering wheel control bottons.
I saw that someone made mention that they can be repainted, but was not able to locate the person/company that does this.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you

I obviously was not looking for that reply...thats for your effort...
And by the way, you don't need a "new wheel", the airbag unit can be replaced - the controls are attached to the airbag, not the "wheel".

doubt your gonna find a place to paint them as the writing on the buttons is transluscent while the rest of each button is painted. your best bet is to swap the airbag. there was only a couple of interior colors so its not like there were 5 different shades of gray.

It's almost as if the steering wheel controls are a decal, not paint. It just peels away if you (or wife) hits it with a nail. Cheaply done. I have the same issue and I remember test driving a couple others with the same problem.

Any update on the buttons repair? Is replacing the airbag still the only answer? Mine are looking a little rough and I was thinking of ditching the cotrol airbag for one that did not have the controls and then would not have to worry about the chipping anymore. I try to push the buttons from behind and not the front to eliminate any further scratches.
