Post Urgent PCM and PCM II

Hi

Could someone please explain the difference between the two and which one standard Cayenne Turbos in the US are sold with. Looking at buying a Cayenne in the US but trying to make sure the PCM has a mapping sat nav.
Help!

I had the same question. See rennteam.com discussion on the Cayenne board. And yes my TT came with PCM II

Thanks - it seems a lot of people are confused about this and to be honest I still am. Will a new 2004 turbo have PCM II as standard, ie. have the moving map system. Does the PCM still exist or are they all PCM II's now?

thanks

The left one looks to be a prototype design.
All PCM's on all Porsche cars MY 03 and onwards should be PCM II versions. The old PCM (MY 02 and before) is not available anymore.

so basically u guys there in the US have never seen the one on the left?!! Confusion is in the price on the website. Says the PCM II is a $2000 odd option, and PCM is standard so just trying to figure out what the car I am about to buy in Virginia comes with as standard. Guess it's the one on the right then!

I don't know what the unit on the left is, but the "right" pic is the "correct" one. In the US, PCM II is std. equip on the TT, optional on the S.

The one in the picture on the left is what PCM11 looks like as fitted in the '03 996 - the one on the right is the PCM11 as fitted in the pepper.
