Post Crystal Guard 2 weeks later (pics)

Two weeks after application, 2 hand washes in between, still looking good. CG seems to be holding up well. So far, I think I'm a believer. Here are some pics from today. You can get the fullsize ones at 986host.com.

Can you offer some background on Crystal Guard? The photos certainly would lead one to agree with your choice. Would you mind sharing how you came to know about Crystal Guard and what drove your decision? Since my Cayenne is Crystal Silver, I would not likely get the same deep lustre a darker paint color would exhibit. However, if their web site is to be believed (and I have no reason to doubt at this point), this looks like a great product.

I've used Malm's products on my 930 with good results. But your pictures certainly make a case for considering a change!

BTW, very nice car!

I came across it on a msg board, read about it a lot more on one of the 350z message boards (where i also found a 10% off coupon) and gave it a try. It cost ~$60 for the kit, which will probably do 3-4 applications so it ain't cheap. Supposed to make somewhat of a acrylic barrier layer over the paint. I have no idea if it works or if it's snake oil, but it SEEMS to work very nicely. I've only used it for 2 weeks so can't vouch for longevity.

I put it on my white 996 and it looks very good too -- of course not as deep as black (black is SO great when it's clean and shiny!) -- but still looks good.

I'll try to take pics of the CG'd 996 this week. I have no affiliation with CG -- just a new and so far satisfied customer.

Thanks for the kudos -- I though those pics (taken at 7pm, very low sun) turned out nicely!

Scott,

Finally went to the Crystal Guard web site and noticed several products listed. Did you get the CG Quick, or primer, base coat & top coat?
