Unhappy Is there a Break in Period for Towing w/ the Cayenne?

On roadfly.com a Guy with a CTT blew his tranny into itty bitty parts towing his boat to lake meade....I just wonder if the guy just over worked a new truck or his CTT just hada bum tranny. But, does the owners manual say anything about Towing break in?

I have towed my 12 foot Mastercraft V-Drive (5,500 pounds) all over the place and have had no problems.

Just curious why you feel the need to go out and create or find bad thing to post here. Something missing in your life. Why do you care if someone buys a Cayeene or likes a Cayenne.

Haha. Check the IPS between RobertG and Bob Parker. They look the same. Go figure. So the question is why does this guy post crap like this under different names on different boards and cites to his own self and has debates wiht his ownself. Dude, you are a mental case. Seek help.

OBTW, I also need a W 12 quad turbo motor (1001 hp) to put into my race car (A custom Enzo). You wanna race me in your race car with winners take tittles. I kinda hate to take your precious matchbox race car with the 3.8 from you. I quiet playing with match box race cars a long time ago.

Whats your emotional problem with the possibility of interested people learning about mechanical problems on the Cayenne? Worried about your resale value or is it something else? I dont create news, I just post news. Anyways, that tranny is also shared with VW's Touareg. Hopefully, right now its just an isolated incident. But with so many of those VW versions of the Cayenne as well has PAG Cayennes hitting the streets. The propensity for towing specific tranny problems ' could ' grow. I hope it doesnt. I also it does not become as abundant as RMS failures in M96 engines as of late.

Not sure that Porsche has released the computer program to activate the wiring harness yet. They can finally get the plug, but the plug is dead unless programmed. A buddy of mine had to do mine with his lap top just two weeks ago because Porsche could not do it. Porsche also only has four pin connectors and no five pin at this time. Screws up trailer braking system.

Surprised to hear people are towing unless they are able to work this out on their own. Need to be careful though, it is more involved than just programming trailer lights, trailer brakes, and etc. Their may actually bwe programing done to the tranny when used in towing mode. No-one is real sure yet.
