Post Curb your enthusiasm...

Seems like a pretty small crowd for us Cayenne owners out here, ah?

Finishing my 4th day as a TT owner, can't help but wonder why this most spectacular vehicle is still so obscure and with so little info in circulation.

Here is to hoping that this group will grow to the same level of useful owner exchanges as the more traditional Rennlist areas!

What's the definition of a Pioneer??? It's a guy w/arrows in his back.
Ok, old (and bad) joke, but all of you are breaking new ground. It took years to sort out many of the details on the Boxster and 996, and the Cayenne voyage of discovery has just begun.
Enjoy!

Right, not complaining here, if anything just surprised that more people are not going nuts about how incredible this thing really is.

Hard to imagine any true enthusiast spending any time in a TT and not walking away awestruck.

>> PS - waddayawannaknow???

Right now not much, but I'm sure lots of q's will develop. But to throw some in no particular order:

* Are the oval exhaust tips, clear sidemarks and mud flaps in my TT standard? (bought new but with somewhat questionable origin, no sticker)

* How long average to receive the Nav disk?

* Rattle in the instrument panel (or somewhere up front) in highway cruising normal?

* Possible to somehow get the steering next/prev buttons to go to programmed stations rather than next freq?

* Anyone has any tips / pics of V1 or other detectors clean installations?

Thanks!

DanP, I have an extra set of nav disk if you want it. Just send me the shipping costs!. The rattle is not normal. One of my complaints in the 996 but you will not hear rattles in the Cayenne or at least I have not. You might try the SRX. Great install with extra warning lights on instrument cluster.

Email me if you need the disk at dc@castrogroup.com

I have to admit that I was prepared to be underwhelmed when I drove the Cayenne TT. I currently own a 2001 996TT and while I was at the dealership for service they had a Black on black Cayenne TT. I grudgingly took it for a test drive and was very, very impressed. The fit and finish, handling, and power were impressive. The most shocking thing was the brakes, how did they make such a huge vehicle brake like that? I would definitely get the turbo as that it seems to transform the vehicle from a SUV to some sort of freak SUV that can run with many sports cars. No matter what one thinks of the Cayenne, the engineering is amazing. I didn't buy it because it doesn't fit what I need in a vehicle but I have been converted to a believer.

Ok,
Mud flaps & exhaust tips - tequipment options.
The dealer can have the Nav discs fedex'd to you - and if you don't have them yet, make a phone call!!!
Noise?? Nope - should be very quiet. Have that checked.
Don't know about the program seek function.
