Post Finally Drove the heck out of TT today..

Well my dealer called me and said it was time, that was at 12:10PM, at 12:25 I was using the tiptronic on the wheel to drop it down into first gear!! It was a perfect day, Rainy and wet.... I've driven the S, and was impressed, soft seats, adequate power from 0-60 lacking power from 60-90, just felt like the engine was revving up but we were slowly accelerating... Back to the TT…After adjusting to Sport Mode and lowering the Air suspension down to a normal level so that we wouldn't be confused for a FX45 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> we were off... Of course I let up warm up for a mile or two, than opened her up.. now this is my first experience in any kind of Turbo, so I wasn't sure what was exactly going to happen... but after about 2 seconds the Turbos kicked in and I actually caught myself holding my head forward.. this usually happens when I’m a passenger in my 996... needless to say I liked the feeling.... I headed to some bumpy roads to test out the Air Suspension, now comparing this to the X5 with a Sport Package, it was smoother yet you still felt the road, the X5 would somewhat bounce you up and down over bumps, where this somewhat absorbed them all. By this time it was raining pretty hard, rain sensing wipers worked well, they adjust there speed according to the rain.. At my first stop light I clicked it down to first and punched it... PSM didn't even kick in... it just roared off... then headed to the freeway, as I looked down 110 felt like 65... this can definitely get you into trouble! As I took a long 2 lane 90 degree off ramp that entered a 2 lane road….I dropped it down a gear and got on it... it felt like all 4 tires were slipping yet there was no near sign of losing control.. I'd say my speed at that time was around 65..quite amazing to say the least. Fortunately there were no cars around while I drove like a 13 year old at Malibu Grand Prix. Now headed back to town I came to a stop sign, It was time to test the brakes, giving myself ample room to possibly slide into the stop.. I mashed down hard, and to my surprise there was no sign of PSM. The rest of the way home was smooth, adjusted the shocks to comfort mode and we floated our way back the dealership. I didn't reset the computer before I took off, but I was the first to drive this thing and the MPG's after my little 30 min trip were a surprising 7.1 MPG Thank god gas is Tax deduction!! Overall it just doesn't feel like a SUV, if you close your eyes and get in you will feel like your in a 996 accept of course your raised up a bit... The transmission is excellent, it really learns to your driving, after it recognizes that your not out for a Sunday drive, it really adjusts and as you slow down it stays in that gear helping you slow down, and ready for the next punch of the throttle.. very nice however I would love to have the choice of starting off in first gear every time. Its simple to click it down on the wheel but that would probably get old after a while. Full leather is very nice! Bubbly non-leather isn’t appealing..The larger rims seem to give it less body roll, 19"s or 20"s do the trick. Stereo is quite nice, probably the best system Porsche has ever installed in a vehicle. I loved the fact that the climate control has dual fan control, great for my girlfriend that dislikes air on her, as I need it for survival. I think the most bothersome issue for me is the fact that all of this great planning and testing of this vehicle has definitely paid off, but Porsche's poor planning for options that are not available is absurd. I mean the list of items you cannot order at this time for a S is ridiculous. Air Suspension, 19" & 20"s (for TT as well) aluminum package, 4 Zone AC, Sport Seats, Heated Front & Rear seats.. (oh well) and a few others that are not too important. If your going to spend that much on the vehicle that you want, you shouldn't have to settle for anything less... Therefore I cannot wait and have placed a order for a TT…

Sorry for the long post but just thought I’d share my impressions!
