Ok guys just finished work got into the Cayenne (2003 S) and by accident pushed the drivers door window switch making the window drop down, there was a loud crack type noise and now the window is stuck half way down drove the car home and managed to get the window up by hand....... when you press the switch the motor and the window mover thing can be heard moving up and down but the window stays where it is any idea what i need to do to fix it?

Sounds like you're going to have to take the door apart and have a look to diagnose it. I haven't heard of window regulator issues with Cayennes, but this sounds like a broken window regulator cable or something similar...

Sounds like the mechanical linkage may have become detached or snapped, I agree with Dennis you need to remove the door card to see

I've seen the window regulators break on more than one occasion, doing just what you described. They are kind of a pain to replace, as they are riveted into the door carrier, and the door must be re-aligned when you put the carrier back in.

Great thanks anyone have a user guide or know of a link to one to help me take the door card off and get the regulator out!
