Question Roof Rail Removal

After driving my P!g for 6 years, I have reached the conclusion that I like the sans roof rails look better. Has anybody removed theirs? Any DIY info out there to share? I searched "how to remove roof rails" but didn't find anything useful. TIA...

I also prefer the look without the rails. I use the Thule Tracker II system for our ski rack, which is easily removable.

I have just removed the rails from my turbo. Was easy enough job! My question is should there be any kind of insert to pop onto the tracks on the roof now that rails have been removed or do they just stay like that?

How do the rails come off? The link up above isn't working anymore. My rails look in pretty poor condition, the silver paint has come off so I may get them re-sprayed.

I went back and forth on this issue, decided to leave them on. I think it just looks like it is missing something without the rails. Everyone has their own opinion I guess.
