New to Porsche and Cayenne.. Looking for some feedback
So to make my back story brief, I have never owned or driven Porsche until recently when i saw a gorgeous 2010 GTS. I currently drive a 2009 Cadillac CTS-V and have been a big fan of driving American, (and Cadillac - 5 now). I think the Cayenne is a perfect balance of SUV/Truck and sports car like experience. In fact, I have fallen hard for them!
My debate; I have narrowed my preference down to wanting a Turbo or Turbo S. To stay in the price range i want to be in (up to mid $50s) i see i have to go for an 06 or 08.
If it's between on 06 Turbo, or Turbo S or an 08 Turbo....
1. Are there big differences between the 06 Turbo vs Turbo S? The interior/exterior look exactly the same. Is it just the extra 50 or so ponies?
2. There's generally a $10-$20k difference between the 06 vs 08. Other than the newer stereo and slightly different exterior (front end and rear end?), anything else worth the money?
3. 06 doesn't have a sport button like 08 does (not talking about suspension), big deal? Or does the sport suspension also change the shifting in the 06?
4. In regards to reliability and cost of maintenance, are the 06 vs 08 the same or one have more expense parts and or harder time to maintenance DIY for the typical stuff? (oil, brakes, filters)
5. I know they have different motors, and i have driven an 06 Turbo S and 09 Turbo. I thought the 09 felt much smoother across the RPMs, but not sure if it's because the Turbo S has sat for two-three months. Thoughts?
6. Anything else i should be thinking about? (i will get a PPI, and i'm aware of the water hoses)
I really appreciate your time. I am one of those who research this stuff and get pretty **** about my cars.

I just picked up a GTS, and I have to admit, an 06 Turbo or S wouldnt have been an option. The facelift, plus the sport button and air suspension are awesome. Sport button increases throttle sensitivity, how the automatic transmission reacts, and other various things. Forget the S, just get an 08 Turbo, plenty available for mid-50's.

mcbit - how did you handle going from a turbo to a GTS? driving an 09 vs 09 the Turbo had so much more power.... Even the 06 Turbo felt so much more powerful than GTS. Guess it's not just power for you?

If the power is what you want, get the most power you can get.
A big part of the GTS is the look of the Pepper.
And it does have plenty of power.
Heck, I am happy with our V-6

So it seems most say get the 08... No one has really given me reasoning though... 10-20k is a big jump for what seems pretty similar vehicles.... But the exterior is refreshed, and the 4.8 on the 08..

Huge 2nd. The GTS is 5000 lbs of overachieving fun in the twisties!
I still find the GTS a much more entertaining car to drive due to the much improved handling.
